Surprisingly, I did not find a good solution for this rather easy idea(if we consider the other highly complex routing options that we have easily mastered!). When I'm using Ableton Live (I apologize the blasphemy) I can use a separate midi track with the "external audio instrument" plugin to route midi into omnisphere, and audio back to the track. In ableton, choose that same port as a midi input on a track. Routing between that and a software MIDI device (or another hardware device), you could do in a bunch of ways.
